Divorce is an ugly word especially when division of property, maintenance, asset allowance, and parental rights are discussed between two opposing lawyers, the longer, the more profitable. Perhaps the judge wanted to prevent a cooperative couple from turning into vengeful opponents. I have witnessed too many divorces where judicial overrules have devastated families, capable of punishing either wives or husbands and children.
