I am thankful that I am of the generation when my mother was a stay-at-home mom with plenty of things to do to maintain our family. The result was well-balanced children who all attended college and started professional jobs, much to do with Mom's attention. The trade-off for awhile now seems to be between making money for whatever reason and bringing up children to their best abilities.
