Nature of Relationship Marketing Returns Home to Social Selling & Decentralized Commerce
In essence, the sales process will always be the nature of referral or relationship marketing.
I remember my friend calling to invite me to a Tupperware home party at her friend’s home. It was a Sunday afternoon on the patio with a guest hostess offering plates of snacks, cups of tea and many kinds of plastic containers for preparation, storage and serving.
There was a polite murmur of voices sharing stories of kitchens, recipes and compliments on the new products. Even a gentleman also attended thinking this might be a good place to meet a responsible homemaker!
I ultimately admired a large mustard colored salad bowl and air tight lid that would be perfect to deliver salads to community events. There was a sense of satisfaction that others complimented the same product as well as several others.
In essence, this was social selling or live commerce, even as this new trend is happening on the internet now.
This is the nature of traditional home parties where friends get together to make a useful purchase with a shared experience developing relationships as part of the sales process.
