Ode to Corporations
It’s easier to imagine the end of the world than the end of capitalism… Mark Fisher
Big White Whirr capitalist machine sits ready to whirr
Hiring Little Whirrs minus empathy or compassion,
Exploiting vulnerable Whirrs’ population to turn over
Their time, labor and future for less than market value.
Building more debt controls Whirrs’ dependence on job …
Facing extreme health care or unpaid education costs.
Meanwhile, Big Whirrs boost profits, close markets,
Cut employee Whirrs’ compensation, raise inflation.
Poor Whirrs, so conditioned to admire Rich Big Whirrs
Believing just have to work harder for financial freedom …
A delusional hope in rigged system of few Gigantic Whirrs
Accumulating windfall transnational profits on oil, tech, pharma.
Rich Whirrs enrich only each other from supply of Poor Whirrs,
Even if betraying values of Democracy, Equality and Freedom.
