One of my most interesting college courses was called Visual Literacy with a profound effect of how to look at the world beyond visual details. Understanding the elements of perception and constructive design has certainly helped my writing. Yes, I agree, less is more in descriptions for pungency...a favorite word used in context to describe sedges by the creek. Appreciate this great article very much.
