Who Would Trade a Weight Loss Milkshake to Be an Early Networking Adaptor of a New Digital Empire?

Isagenix is a well known nutritional and personal care MLM company founded in 2002 by focusing on weight loss supplements, one of the fastest growing industries. It reported revenues of $958 million (2017).

Recently it has been challenged for making product claims that are not supported by science and many Isagenix products were recalled due to overfortification of vitamins. This is a common enough problem about dietary supplements because the process may contain dozens of ingredients that are not reviewed or approved by the U.S Food & Drug Administration before they are marketed.

One of my networking friends enrolled and actively tried to recruit me as a certified supplement distributor from The Institute of Cellular Nutrition, a two year program with Dr. Laz Bannock. (See Index of Phytonutrition Articles for Wellness Lifestyle )

Out of courtesy, I said I would check the ingredient list of his favorite weight loss meal replacement milkshake as should every consumer buying any product for consumption. I counted at least 45 elements, the worst one being fructose as a sweetener made from cornstarch shown by research that can lead to insulin resistance, obesity, Type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure. Excess protein can also affect kidneys.

He stopped calling after a couple of attempts but would still send outlines of his cleansing and fat burning starter packs with photos online of a slimming physique with a happy grin but thin wallet, I’m sure.

He didn’t mention how expensive or not sustainable the Isagenix system diet was. The most popular plan was the 30 Day System, which costs $378.50 per month.

On shake days, two meals were replaced with Isagenix shakes. On the third day, eat a healthful meal that contains 400–600 calories.

On cleanse days, consume 4 servings of the Isagenix Cleanse for Life liquid and up to 6 Isagenix snacks also as meal replacements
